~JZ Says~

Back down to two matches this week, and the 205 Live name remains. Perhaps they’ll change it next week as part of the NXT 2.0 rebrand? One can only hope.

The opener saw Valentina Feroz narrowly escape death on her way to a victory over Katrina Cortez. This was a pretty basic back and forth, with one memorable (not for the right reason) spot – Feroz was on Cortez’s shoulders and looked like she was trying to flip around and hit a rana, but she slipped, or Cortez dropped her, and she landed awkwardly on her neck. Ouch. Even so, Feroz recovered and landed a nice Tornado DDT for the pin.

Tag team action took the main event slot, as two makeshift teams did battle. Josh Briggs and Joe Gacy had at least wrestled each other twice and earned each other’s respect, while the team of Odyssey Jones and Trey Baxter is completely random as far as I know. The match went about as one would expect, with Baxter getting isolated by the big dudes Briggs and Gacy, before eventually making the hot tag. Jones came in and cleaned house, getting the pin on Briggs with a Rock Bottom. Baxter and Jones could be a fun team, as Jones is green but shows promise. Briggs just looks lost out there.

Next week, NXT gets rebooted, but it appears as though the 205 Live name will inexplicably remain. I haven’t decided if I’ll carry on reviewing the show yet or not. We shall see.
